Fridays at Shinies
From September through to May, Shinies meet at Shinewater Community Centre in Milfoil Drive, Eastbourne, from 10 am until 1 pm.
Every other month the parents get together to draw up a schedule of events, whether it be visiting speakers and workshops, or specific topic based activities. Each family then takes responsibility for bringing any necessary learning aids to that particular session.
A typical week's topic might be Tropical Junk, for example, whereby everyone brings along all their recycling - tins, tubs and tubes - with which our task is to create a caribbean tropical island!
